I always dreamed of being a mother. In anticipation of the day I remember helping my mother with my younger brothers and watching how all mothers do what they do. I knew that I would have smart, beautiful, obedient children, and that I would be the perfect mother who led them through wonderful, educational activities.
And then reality hit.
There's a lot of time in the day. That means a lot of time for things to not go as I planned. And what am I supposed to do anyways!?! So of course I turned to an expert, my mom. She raised 7 kids, babysat, took in foster children, and generally mothered everyone in the neighborhood. Her response: "I made it up as I went. You'll figure it out."
So that's just what I'm out to do with this little project. As I try different crafts, projects, lessons, or activities, I'll blog it. That way, maybe, I can remember age appropriate activities as my family grows. Or at least remember why I didn't like a particular play dough recipe.
My ideas will come from various sources: memories, friends, websites. Unfortunately, before I thought of doing this blog I compiled a list if ideas and recipes that I want to try. I have no idea where I got some of them. So, if I steal your idea in these beginning days, I'm sorry. I have listed the main sites I've been to. As this takes off (which I hope it will), I'll be sure to cite my sites when possible.
