Toilet Paper Tube Airplane

I wasn't going to post this one because it was made on the fly.  But it has been such a hit over the last few weeks that I have to do it justice.  My daughter now recognizes airplanes by sight and sound.  Which means that every time one flies over she mimics the sound and points up towards it.  I decided to make her her own airplane with what I had on hand... a toilet paper tube, a macaroni box and masking tape.

Cut the wings and tail wing, then slit the toilet paper tube in the appropriate places and tape them in place.  for the nose, cut a circle in the macaroni box, then cut one slit from the edge to the center of the circle.  Twist the edge until it fits to the end of the toilet paper tube.

By this time she knew what I was making and she took over the project.  I did succeed in getting her to decorate it a little.

If I were to re-make it I would use a popsicle stick to reinforce the wings and paste white paper on the tube so the decorations show up a little better.
