Binoculars

 

This project came together easily and has been a favorite toy since.

We cut a sheet of computer paper in half "hot dog" style and spent a few minutes coloring  the two strips.  Then I pasted them on the toilet paper tubes and helped my daughter glue on pre-cut flowers and polka dots.  

Next poke a hole in each tube, thread an end of yarn through and knot it.  Tape the ends inside the tube so that it doesn't obstruct the view through the binoculars.  Glue the tubes together and reinforce it with a bit of tape at either end.  This last was super necessary so she could play with them immediately.
