I took my daughter to our local library for toddlers' story time today as I try to do every week when I had a brilliant idea. In other story times we just sing and dance to kids' songs and read stories, and then (if it's not flu season) the kids all get to play with toys together. But the children's librarian at this library branch always tries to have a simple craft that ties in with the stories she picked for the day.
As we colored and glued today's craft it struck me what a singularly fantastic idea this is! And that our library might not always have a librarian who does story time this way. So I'm going to reach back into my memory and pull out the activities we've done thus far, and then record the ones we do in the successive weeks.
